In the USA, pathology is divided into anatomical pathology (AP) and clinical pathology (CP).　AP is pathology + forensic medicine, and CP is laboratory medicine.

After completing residency (4 years), you can further specialize in your field of study through a fellowship. In my case, I chose Pediatric Pathology (PP) and Molecular Genetic Pathology (MGP). Each has an exam, and I took the AP/CP, MGP, and PP for three consecutive years.
In children’s hospitals, pediatric pathologists are important team members in the care of patients, but the reality is that many general hospitals do not place much emphasis on pediatric pathology.

Even though there are many conditions that are unique to children. Pediatric pathology specific education for general pathologists is not readily available. Therefore, I hope this site will be of some help to you.
